Getting started

  1. Pair headphones that support Apple's headphone motion data with your iPhone.
  2. Open Slouch Potato, tap Get started, and allow Motion & Fitness access.
  3. Sit comfortably upright and follow the calibration countdown.
  4. Tap Start session and keep the app visible. Keep screen awake is available in Settings.
Which headphones work?

Live tracking requires compatible AirPods or Beats that provide headphone motion data. Bluetooth audio alone is not sufficient. Settings → Help → Motion diagnostics shows whether your current setup provides motion updates.

Can I try it without headphones?

Yes. Tap “No AirPods handy? Try the demo” during onboarding, or Settings → Help → Try the demo. The demo uses clearly labeled simulated motion and saves no session.

Why did tracking pause?

Only live motion data counts. Tracking pauses when your headphones disconnect, motion access is denied, or updates stop. iOS can pause updates when the phone locks or another app is in front. Reconnect your headphones, reopen the app, and follow the status banner's action.

How do I adjust reminders?

Open Settings to change sensitivity, the delay before a reminder, and its repeat interval. Vibration, chime, and lowering music each have their own switch. Recalibrate if you change your sitting position.

How do I restore or cancel Pro?

Use Restore Purchases in the app's Settings or paywall while signed into the Apple Account used to subscribe. To manage or cancel, use Manage subscription in the app or iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple handles billing and refund requests.

How do I delete my app data?

Delete Slouch Potato from your iPhone to remove its local settings, calibration, and session history. Apple manages any copies in your device backups. There is no Slouch Potato account or server-side motion history.

Does it diagnose or treat posture problems?

No. Slouch Potato is a wellness reminder based on head orientation. It does not measure your spine or shoulders and is not a medical device.
